Working towards an Environmentally Sustainable Future

CCNE are committed to significantly reducing our carbon footprint and that of our clients. We utilise energy efficient appliances and lighting when carrying out refurbishments, source natural products where possible and utilise materials that can be easily recycled.

Our commitment to sustainability includes the introduction of new technologies, and this has been demonstrated by our electrical division, who have worked alongside The Co-operative Group to deliver ‘energy retro-fit’ lighting schemes to stores across the North of England. This involved a full redesign of store lighting to reduce energy consumption and enhance ambient levels.

We are trialling daylight dependency controls in a number of stores, which utilise natural daylight to achieve the required ambient levels. We are also looking into further energy savings that can be achieved by reducing lighting levels in unoccupied areas of car parks by 70%.

Our Mechanical, Plumbing and Heating Division have been recognised for contributions to sustainability by The Co-operative Group, and have been instructed to carry out Mechanical and Heating installations which reduce energy consumption in their heating systems. Trials have also commenced in a number of properties to reduce water consumption by installing flow restrictors for taps, and water saving cisterns, urinals and cylinders. This will provide significant cost savings for our clients.
